The Special Education Teacher's responsibilities include:
- Implementation of IEP (Individualized Educational Program) and 504 Plan
- AIS (Academic Intervention Services)
- Diagnostic assessment
- Reading intervention
- Individualized instruction
- Development of supplementary curriculum materials, resources and instructional procedures using a variety of methods/techniques
- Collaboration with classroom teachers on techniques/methods/materials
A Nativity School parent recently wrote: “having a Resource Teacher will be a tremendous asset to the future of Nativity of Mary School. It will benefit the school and students in many ways……..While not limited to the following, some of the key benefits will be, increased enrollment, student retention and less distraction for students and teachers.”
